International "Expertise and Foresight" mission

The week of april 22th to 26th, 2024, INRAE's Directorate for Collective Scientific Assessment, Foresight and Studies, and IRD's Mission on Expertise and Consultancy have been invited to take part in a number of meetings in Washington and New York to talk about expertise and foresight.

These meetings are scheduled with international organizations working on the topic of scientific expertise for public policy, including the United Nations Environment Program, the Organization of American States, the NGO Conservation International, the World Resources Institute, the International Food Policy Research Institute, the National Academy of Sciences and the Inter-American Development Bank.

At the end of the week, friday april 26th, the Permanent Mission of France is organizing an event in New York City on the theme of science-based public policy tools for sustainable development, with presentations by Guy Richard (INRAE) and Ludovic Mollier (IRD). This event, aimed at UN experts on science, climate and biodiversity, will be an opportunity to discuss how science can contribute to the political decision-making process on climate change and agriculture. To this end, the methods developed by INRAE and IRD will be presented, along with studies recently conducted by the two research institutes.
