Doctoral training

Doctoral training

To raise doctoral students' awareness of collective scientific assessment and foresight approaches in light of public decision-making and debate, DEPE has been running a two-day training scheme since 2019.

The aim of this training is to introduce doctoral students to collective scientific assessment and foresight methods, which are of great interest when it comes to conducting thesis work and reflecting on the researcher's place in society.

Indeed, one of the missions of public research is to shed light on societal issues raised by decision-makers, and more broadly by all stakeholders and citizens. It is with this in mind that DEPE's activities are carried out. The main sponsors of this work are the ministries in charge of agriculture, the environment and research.

Method:

The course is run using active teaching methods that involve students in the learning process. The two-day course alternates between theoretical contributions, testimonials and hands-on workshops. The emphasis is on cooperation between doctoral students and interaction with trainers and lecturers. The DEPE team is heavily involved in presenting the methods and supervising the workshops. A sponsor from the public sector takes part in the workshops.
